Scouts - London - 8th November
« on: August 29, 2008, 12:18:25 PM »
Ive been asked for some Powerbocking Scouts for the Lord Mayors parade in London on 8th November. Its a Saturday and the event will be for most of the day, probably meeting about 10am! It should be covered on BBC TV.

Please let me know if you are interested!

Youll be lucky to find a Scout that has any idea about what your going on about Pin! We do far more interesting things now - climbing, kayaking, camping, ... powerbocking! :) and you know it  :P

If you book train tickets in advance you can get them very cheap.

I looked a couple days ago and found a return ticket to waterloo for only £13 (this is including my student railcard discount)
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room!

Quote
The modern procession is over three miles long – 1.3 miles longer than the route it follows – and starts at 11am after an RAF flypast. It travels from Mansion House to the Royal Courts of Justice, where the Lord Mayor takes an oath of allegiance to the sovereign before the Lord Chief Justice and the judges of the Queen’s Bench Division. The procession sets off on the return journey from Victoria Embankment to Mansion House at 1pm and returns to Mansion House at about 2.30, then the day finishes with one of London’s grandest firework displays at 5 o’clock from a barge moored in the Thames between Blackfriars and Waterloo bridges.

so im guessing meeting somewhere near Mansion House - ill sort out a more specific place when i know how many people we have got going!
