How long did it take till your first fall? i havnt got mine yet (waiting 4 stock) but i'm curious lol!

lol i fell at my work car park (dfs, if anyone saw me lol) about 3 days after i got mine... i tried to bite off more than i could chew!!

AND I HAD NO PADS ON!!! OUCH!

I think I must be lucky, or just very careful, because I haven't fallen over yet... (knock on wood). I mean, I've done it on purpose to pick things up for Stu, or to see if I can get up unaided (of which I can't!). Got to say though, Stu has had some ace falls, especially in front of lots of people....!

not 100% sure but i fink it woz bout 2 maybe 3 weeks after i got em!
i did take 2 em straight away thou, i was up and jumpin within the hour

No idea, i would say a couple of months at least since i was careful outside since i had no wrist guards on for some time. Of course now i wear pads

2 and a half months since i got them and i still havnt fallen over

I've done some pretty interesting dances to keep my balance though.

I've also plonked myself onto the floor a few times so i could force myself to get back up. Which i can do now

Had them wowed at warrington

i could get up off the grass xD

anyway, yeah, i havnt fallen yet

i had a nasty one 2day, had to pop down to A+E,
bounced out of a high birani onto concrete and landed straight on the base of my back,

it hurt.

I went over fairly early (a week or 2) but I have now developed a technique where I don't have to fall to hurt myself

I just kick myself in the middle of a trick

Rule of bocking: If you're not falling over, you're not trying hard enough.

About 2 days after getting them, I managed to smash a wrist guard doing it. 2 years later I went out in the cold and smashed another one

My first one was totally unspectacular. On the grass, takin my first few steps and for a reason still unknown to me I fell sideways. A bit like on of them fainting goats

Well, it took me about 5 minutes to fall over. But I was doing tricks on my first time on them!

I hate it when people say that. it's like saying 'if you havnt crashed your car yet, you trying hard enough'

Falling over isnt something to aspire to, so avoiding it should mean more than actually doing it.

Comparing that to trying to crash a car is ridiculous, that is completely out of context.

If you haven't fallen over bocking, you are clearly not pushing your limits hard enough. If you've got pads on it's not gonna hurt, you're not going to die.

This is what he is saying. We dont deliberately go around throwing ourselves on the floor but if you are careful then you slow your progress. I was one of them. I didnt use to fall much at all. because I didnt want to take risks. Then one day i got some confidence and achieved more than i ever had before..But I fell a few times too.

don't push yourself more than you dont want to. I understand it's hard. I was there..but once you do get past it its pretty cool

But yes, comparing it to a car crash is a little silly. Bocking is a sport. Not mode of transport. If you are safe there is no need to improve. Unless you are racing. And I am sure racing drivers of all kinds go off the road pushing the limits. but still, its completely different. compare to skateboarding or parkour. Failing is part of learning..it's how not to do it..

I do push myself to the limits, first of all I know how painful it is to break bones and stuff (also A&E takes sooo long!) Plus also I don't want to hurt myself as it mucks up my archery....

Anyway, comparing it to parkour, it's still not advisable to fall over. most of the time spent on the floor doing parkour is intentional.

Although, i wouldnt like to compare it to skateboarding, as i wouldnt be on the board for more than 10 seconds xD

seconded on the archery there, i haven't done any for over a month due to general injuries, that i probably wouldn't have if i'd just lay in bed all day

but then again i wouldn't have had much fun
