Weird rusty bolts
« on: April 03, 2009, 08:14:35 PM »

Hey there. I got my pro-jumps today and I noticed that 2 of the bolts that hold one hoof together are rusty looking. The other two bolts and the other 4 bolts on the other hoof look brand new. Just a bit worried really. will it still be alright?

Sorry the pic is a bit unfocused ... but you can see the two rusty bolts in the front ....

any reassurance?

cheers XX

thats not right at all :Cmask:....they shouldnt be rusted if you only bought them a few days ago.....contact pro jump and send them an e-mail with the picture and im sure they will send you some out or even take the stilts back to check that they are ok

maybe if you undid a bolt you will be able to see rust residue come off it, if not then it must be the colour of the bolt :Cwink:

I've seen a previous topic while back about the same thing, it happens very rarely and usually down moisure in transit and most likely to be surface rust.

Theres some advise in the following thread http://www.projumpforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=1335.msg16332

If its not surface rust, and you cant get hold of the same ones then just pm me your address and I'll get some posted out for you monday

thanks naz for that thread post ... it looks as if the rust can easily be scrubbed off with some wd 40/wire brush .... and guess i has the same worries as 'jevans' on the thread.

let you know tomarrow
