what size to get
« on: April 22, 2009, 07:04:22 PM »
im thinking of getting some powerizer pros, and dunno weather to get the kids or adults... im like 42 kg, and the adult ones are 50-110kg and kids 30-50... should i get adult? would i still bounce 3 and a half feet even with the adults... id rather the adults cause id keep em longer too. id love to hear your thoughts on this... or perhaps get the projump adult ones.. are the powerizer pros better?

hey

50-110? I am assuming thats the full adult range and not the springs lol. If you can get adults get adults. Will be much better. If you are getting powerisers then it is probs best to go for 50-70s.

Sprog is the expert on brands and what is better but I will try to help lol..

For starters...are they poweriZers or PoweriSers. There is a difference. I am gonna assume they are PoweriSers because you have mentioned the pro's. From what I have heard at the mo Projumps are the better choice. I have PJs. Love them. I just havnt tried poweriser pros to compare. I am not sure if PJs are any better but I think the frames are more durable and the springs a bit softer which is probably a good thing for you. Also, the support is really really good and they cost less.

but...they dont have the size you would need atm. You would have to call up and get some springs changed over. Would cost an extra £15 for the same thing. If you dont want to wait great option if you choose projumps. The springs you would need would be M60.

But actually, before I say adults, how tall are you, if you are less than 5ft you will be a bit short for them.

Cool, go for adults for sure then.

Dont wait for elites. You could be waiting a long long time.

I mentioned that. Its gonna be 6-8 weeks.

If you want the projumps then you can phone up and ask to get some springs changed. Basically. You can buy spare springs, and they have 100's and 110's in. So for £15 you can get some spare m60 springs put onto the frames of what would be M100's. Or wait...

Spud has already told you that and what to do with regards to the problem.

The upgraded bindings are well worth getting. Cuffs are very much a personal preference thing. Some people love them, some people cant get on with them. I like the kneebar and cuffs about the same amount. I find each as comfy but I think the cuffs are more secure. Once they are set up perfectly (takes a bit of tweaking fir a while) they are really nice. I probably wont go back to the knee bar now I have cuffs just because they are so secure.

Helmet is optional, you're not really going to be hitting your head unless you're attempting flips and crazy stuff, or walking under low signs.

and yes there's quite a few 13 year old bockers, most people seem to be young teens, or old teens/over 40s :D

what should i learn to do before i start going to werever you go :)

well if you're coming to guildford, then you might want to learn how to handle steps, big ones if you come anywhere near the uni XD

other usuals are kingston, and places round staines etc area of london

don't really need to learn anything, walking might help though at least, if you want to do a meetup anywhere, just post here and see who's up for it, i'm a little busy with revision etc for my degree atm, then off for a bit before being back here in august, so might not be able to make it to any meets for a while

I'd also, if you have the time, protect your hooves with tyres,

and if you're feeling REALLY adventurous, get some tires, cut them to size for your springs and put them on the springs too, they're the best spring protection you can have really...
