M70's or M80's?
« on: September 07, 2009, 06:23:51 PM »
Well my old Skyrunners(yes...I know) are starting to fall apart now, and I am going to get some new stilts for my birthday.
The problem is I am not sure if I should go for M70's or M80's, since I have been bocking for a year now I am worried that I will bottom M70's quite easily.
I weigh about 58kg at the moment, but I am growing (13, going on 14) so there is a chance that I will be heavier in a while.
I also used to be about 65kg and dropped to 55kg a while ago, so if I don't watch what I am eating I might gain that back. :Claugh:

As another question, is paying extra money for Pro-Jump+'s worth it, I do have EVO2's(which are more or less the same as the ones on the PJ+ and I love them!) already but I am going to give my old stilts to someone else so I want to know if the calf-cuffs are any good?

Hey, id say get 80's because you will grow, and probably quite quickly...
And the upgraded bindings on projump+ are very good... but it really depends if you like calf culf or knee bar

The evo2 bindings and pj upgraded bindings are pretty much the same so i would just forget the bindings and get them with cuffs. Cuffs are great, just not for everybody. If you can try them first. But just whack the original bindings on you runners.

As for springs, what are you currently on? It should say on a little bright sticker.

I was going to give my old stilts including the bindings to someone else, as I broke the old ones and the is only a £9 difference.
When I bought my Skyrunners they were advertised as Poweriser 7090's, so I do not know the exact weight of the spring but I would guess 80kg(the only bright sticker I can find says "QC Assessed 1").
I heard the the Skyrunner springs were quite different so I am not sure.

i use the evo 2 bindings and i think there rubbish, even tho they are bigger, have metal ratchets and are probably a bit stronger than evo 1's i still think there uncomfy. i cant wear running trainers coz they just rub the bottom of my leg, so instead i have to wear big clompy trainers.

But the Evo1 bindings can snap eaay... they should make an evo3 which is light weight metal nut more padding to stop rubbing. But these will probably cost loads more

The fix to stop them snapping is easy, you just put in one large washer to distribute the pressure and stop it cutting into the rubber/plastic.

have you used the original bindings?

Back to springs for bio. I wouldnt downgrade even if the springs will be a little softer. If you can try some 70s and 80s and see what you get on with best. You could have any springs tbh. Thats why i think you should try other peoples so you can get a measure on what you might have. Wouldnt bother downgrading but work out what u got first.

The only difference between the evo1's and the evo2's is the rachet part, The straps are exactly the same!
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room!

Ok...There are 3/4 main types of bindings atm. They are known as different things depending where you buy them.

These are evo2's. The binding is the same between the evo1 and evo2s but the ratchet is all metal. The ratchet is stronger but it eats into the strap. These evo2s are also the projump upgraded/pro bindings and the poweriser advanced bindings. The ratchets on the projump+ are again different but only in shape (i think). The look like the original/basic bindings.

These are original bindings. Will see them on poweriser classic/original projumps and 7's. Just with different colour foam.

Jesus, cant find binding pics anywhere..shoulda just taken and upladed a picture but meh..this will do..

^^those bindings! They are the original bindings I was on about..now..they are not so good!

Yes fail..EPIC FAIL...EPIC FAIL for being a lazy s**t! I knew I made the mistake but couldn't be arsed to change it. Tuned the comp off and was on ipod when I realised and thought f**k it...the important thing is that the binding part is the same  :Ctwitcy: You wernt supposed to notice!  :Cno:

I really wanted the clip of Woody going "We see EVEEEEEEERYTHING" from the scene in Sid's Garden in Toy Story, but I couldn't find it. So this will have to do, as it does include a vague clip of it.
