Am new - have a few questions.
« on: January 04, 2010, 11:38:35 PM »
Helloo,

I've been wanting powerisers for a while as my friend has them, and I thought they were pretty awesome. So it's just been Christmas and I have money to spend, so I thought I would buy some now. I just have a few quick questions, if you wouldn't mind answering them if you can :]

First of all, I weigh approximately 12 stone, so I'm guessing I should go to for the M90's? Is that correct?

Second of all, is there anyone around the Newbury/Reading area at all? Haven't seen anyone and Newbury is such a small place I'm sure I wouldn't run into anyone at all :P It'd be nice to meet up with some new people.

That was short, I thought it'd be longer than that. But anyway, thank you for reading and your time :]

Hope you're all okay and you had a good Christmas.

Yeh the M90's are the way to go. If you look at the FAQ tab at the top of the page, third from the left, and then pick "choosing the right size" second option down. You will see all the info you need. :Cyes:

As for Newbury/Reading... I can't help with that one, sorry, it not near me. :Cno:
Sure there will be someone on here who will know though. :Cyes:

Welcome to PJF mate. M90's will do you fine, dont forget your pads too :)

Newbury is a bit of a dry area for bockers. You're a bit north for the Jurassic Jumpers (south coast) unless you can jump on a train to portsmouth.
I dont really know of any bockers in your area, but I am certain there are some. The best thing you can do is on a dry sunny day go out bocking in your town and get seen. Sooner or later someone will say "my mates got them" and so on.
Failing that, feel free to venture down to south wales and join us for a day out.

I highly advise against this. It only ends in trouble. :Claugh:

Lol, I agree :P I have never been down to see the Welsh Bockers, but from rumors I hear people change when they go down, and they are not the same when they come back :D
Come to some JJ meets, we usually have a meet every other saturday in Portsmouth, the next one is on Saturday 23rd I think :S, but go to

www.jurassicjumpers.co.uk

for more details :)
Hope this helps

hi there and welcome.  Hope you have got your stilts.

As Locky has said all that Thames Valley/Home Counties area is a bit barren of bockers. Lm sure they are around, just not got the critical mass to be noticed.

However , I can offer you up a lil star. Tho i hesitate to as she is a regular with the JJ's in portsmouth.

GIZMOQUEEN aka Katie. She is in basingstoke. Which rather completes the triangle with newbury and reading. Desperate also to find others in the area

Okay, cool, thank you :]

I did check on the helpful map tool you have, and I was a bit like 'failnewburyfail'. However I do originally come from Kent and I know they're a few of you from there, so next time I'm down I may be cheeky and ask to meet up or something :]

Thanks for answering ^_^

Another quick question -

Apparently ProJump only deliver to the cardholders address, which puts a bit of a dent in my plan, as I was going to have them delivered to my mum's work, as someone is always there. In our house, no one is home between 7;30am and 4pm. Therefore I would assume that the courier wouldn't leave them in the garage or somewhere else for them to be stolen. So what happens then? I can't afford the £20 for a Saturday delivery. Would they take it back to the nearest post office? Or where would they take them? I don't mind going to pick them up but I'm pretty sure if it's more than a 20 minute drive away, my mum wouldn't take me, so basically I'm just wondering if it'd be the nearest big post office thing, or back to base?

Whenever I have had some delivered it was by DHL and they take them back to their depot and it just depends where that is in your area

But having said that I think Projump now use another courier called DPD (don't quote me on this  :Claugh:) and they do pretty much the same

Okay, thanks. It's just I live in such a small town, and I would assume the nearest depot would be Reading/Swindon/Basingstoke or somewhere like that, and my mum would refuse to drive me there to pick them up. >_>.

Will give them a ring in a second, or possibly get a friend to house sit and get him to sign for them. Highly doubt that would work though.

I actually have a similar problem with DHL. I Rang DHL up one time and I was able to get the parcel left behind our bins. It did require a note to be posted on the parcel and me leaving a signed note at the house. Biggest problem I had was getting in touch with the right people to do it. There phone system sucks! Altho, they have this funky bongo drum hold music :D Call the main number and eventually you will be put through to somebody who can put you through to the local depot or give you the number!

N.B you will need your tracking number. Projump/Naz can provide it for you ;)

Good luck!
