what parts are interchangeable between different brands?
« on: March 07, 2010, 10:18:29 PM »
it would be nice to make a list of parts that are interchangeable between different brands. what parts of 7's fit pro-jumps? can you use powerskip springs on powerisers? do the pro-jump hoofs fit other brands? and so on.

You can pretty much interchange any part. Not always, sometimes they need modding or another part to go with the part you want. I cant see a list happening because the amount of combinations are crazy. Give it a try or if you were thinking of anything specific then ask that but wow..Its a huge list.

Easiest thing to do is build the stilts yourself :D

Then you know what fits and what doesn't :P

hèhè, i mean usefull information. if anyone has actually TRIED to fit a powerskip spring to a pro-jump stilt (or something like that) it would be a nice thing to know if anyone else wants to do that. so they don't have to buy, try and sell again because it doesn't work.

That wouldnt happen. Worst case you would have to buy another part. With skips on other frames i think getting the skip top bracket is recomended. But like a lot of eas have total hybrids from allsorts. Like carl! If he is still on his Tskiprisers lol. My projumps have had 7s springs. Springs are thinner so need to tape the spacers on thats it.

I have 2 sets of Skip springs fitted to PJ's

2 sets of Walking feet fitted to PJ/hybrid frames with PJ springs

I have fitted Skip springs to 7 frames but whats the point the 7 frames are much heavier and no better made than the latest generation of PJ

Also fitted 7 springs to PJ frames

So ask a specific question and I should be able to answer but as for making a list Spuds right Lifes to short  :Claugh:

Yes to both but you will need to use the PJ lower spring bracket and bearing tube (the hoof is narrower) but the 7 bearings may fit

Top bearings are the same as far as I remember

The PJ spring is some 1 to 2 inches longer so it alters the angle of the bocks slightly but that dosen't cause any problems and you soon get used to the different style

If you are doing this on one set of bocks it should work OK but if you are changing the hoofs and keeping the 7 spring you may have to sand away a bit of spring on the bottom as the heavier 7 springs are slightly thicker (I think but it has been a while)
