Cardiff Summer Meetup

after people showed an interest in a Cardiff meet in the CB2010 thread I am now talking to the council about finding a day when the oval basin in cardiff does not have a festival or function so we can have a bocking meet.

What I need to know is.....

  • Does this have to be on a weekend?
  • If it does, what day is best?
  • How many are thinking of coming?

It cannot be Aug 7th, 14th or 22nd.

At the moment I am thinking Aug 21st. The weekend after that is bank holiday and i know there is a festival already in the basin that weekend.

Providing I we can fill a car with NEWC's we'll come (Diesel is so expensive!) Probable about 4 or 5 of us. If its in the week I think to many of the guys will be in work to make a trip south viable.

Before people go mad putting dates in their diary please wait until I hear back from cardiff council.
I'm not sure how long it takes them to look in a diary but I'll give them until tomorrow :)

You know I'm in. I'm on call on the 20th so don't finish work until 5pm on the 21st, so I'll just do the same as I did in May and drive up after work.:Csmile:

Get the train then. You're close to London, take the underground to Paddington then it's 2-3hrs to Cardiff Central, no changes at all :Csmile:

Yeah I have a full head of hair. I just keep it shorter than 5mm because I'm worth it :)
