am i at a disadvantage?
« on: August 07, 2010, 07:24:03 PM »
ok, so i got my Pro-jumps 2 days ago, second hand from ebay (sadly i didnt have enough money for new ones,  but i will one day!)
and i was just reading through this board and thinking how many boys there on here ands how few girls... is it really like this? am i at a disadvantage?

i want to make new friends (i'm kinda shy), as i live on the isle of wight but go to college in southampton, it means i dont get to do much socially when i'm on the island. and from the moment i saw powerbocks i knew i wanted some and i wanted to be able to do it.

any advice? i dont know if there is a group on the island and i feel sort of embarassed to be seen bocking in public as it seems like a mainly male dominated sport. what do you guys think?

its definitely NOT a male orientated sport. i am male, however most of the bockers i know are female... so dont be worried.

and half the guys seem to be gay :Claugh:
Nah dont worry, please. Yes its a sporty thing  and there r more boys than girls. its also more teens and early 20's in this sport. So me at 46 should feel as left out as u. But , turn up at a meet, bounce for 5-10 min....and u r 1 of the group, thats it! All round the country

Vistaprint are probably your cheapest but have a look around for other places, maybe try local printing shops too
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room!
