Now this may sound odd and stupid but I can stand like in the video on the first try  :o
I've only fallen over once in a year and that was when I was learning to race push bikes !?
I big so I don't like the idea of dropping to the floor but tonight I entered a kids playing field and use a climbing frame.
I lowered myself down to the floor ( I'm down so the only way is up !? ).
I could get my leg all the way the first time ( you have to swing it ! ) I grabbed the knee bar to get it in the right place. Leaned forward and kick off the back foot and next thing I know I was up  :o ;D
Didn't go so well the next time ( beginners luck  :D ) but it's not as hard as I thought  :)
One year to try to stand LOL
I'm a Tigger so no bodies pushes me !?

I had a similar experience first time i tried aswell. Managed it pretty much the same as in the video on my first go but since then it has been a bit hit and miss as the whether I can get back up again! ??? Ah well, we'll master it someday.

I have had not had success getting up this way.

I have consistently gotten up but it's not as pretty.  I lay spread eagle.  Hop up on the stilts with my butt up and both my hands on the ground.  I check to make sure that my stilts are not going to slide and raise my body up.

It works but not pretty.  I need to practice the "pop up" method.

Any other methods out there?

The method you are currently trying probably wont work. Probably best too stop practicing it and spend more time on other method.

I really had a problem getting up for a long long time. I think one of the thinks that helped me learn to get up was picking things up off the for. Started with a 2 liter bottle of drink finshed with a tshirt. to reach the floor you have to move your stilts apart put your weight on your back leg and lean over the front one. And to get back form standing you you take a few little steps to get your legs back together.

That is pretty much the second part of getting up. The first bit is getting yourself to a point where you have your body over  or nearly over one of the stilts.

I do everything a funny way but I get to the same point.

I start the normal way. One knee close to my chest the other on the floor (kneepads help). I have one hand on the floor and I gently rock back and forth to get some momentum. when I feel I have enough momentum or am gonna lose my balence. I throw myself forward, push with my hand as much as I can and stick the foot behind into the ground like an anchor stopping me going back any more. Once you are there it's just like how you get up from picking stuff up.

But I am wierd and this method just worked. I didnt know how I did it at first. I practiced it on grass for about 30 mins with no luck. I was just going and going and then one time I realized i was standing up.  I tripped over in excitement lol

Just been think would learning to get off the floor without using your hands help learn getting up with stilts on  :-\

Doing it without stilts can been do anywhere and is a great way to build up the right muscle too.

Getting off the floor with out hands or stilts help getting up with stilts?

Nope. Try it now. It's even easy to sit on your knees and jump up with no hands.

Charlie B was having trouble getting up using the one leg forward and jump up so I asked.
" Can you get up like that WITHOUT stilts on ? "
" Not really tried that "

Sounded a bit silly but then again, is that how you stand up off the floor !?
If you find it hard standing take them off and try standing up without them untill it became easy then try again with your stilts on !
