ITV Filming in Bristol
« on: January 28, 2011, 03:42:59 PM »
Hello all!
A huge thanks for all the guys that turned up yesterday in Bristol for the ITV West News segment! Especially Graham for organising things and choosing a great venue, if not a little on the breezy side. Took a while for my fingers to come back to me!
I can't believe how much fun I had taking part and i'm looking forward to having another go for sure. Such a strange feeling at first and then after normal walking seems a bit lame! it was great to have expert tuition too as i felt really confident learning and soon felt like i was getting somewhere with it. Feels really good when you get the bounce right, but also made me realise how crazy some of the jumps the other guys were doing!!

Overall it was a great experience, with great people and hopefully the footage tonight on ITV West news between 6 and 6:30 will show that. I will try and upload a link here on the weekend for people outside of the West's coverage.

Simon the producer with the Glidecam has just uploaded some of the pictures for you to download and look at. I will also try and post a few on here if you don't beat me to it.

Didn't think i would end up on someones shoulders whilst they were riding a unicycle either!! A day of new experiences!!

Thanks again and hopefully I will see some of you again this year!

Tristan,

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to take part.  I think I speak for everyone when I say we all had a really good day.  I think you're right about the weather though.  Poor Hollie was nearly frozen solid by the time we finished.

Let hope hope that the show, and anything on your site helps to raise the profile of the sport.  (And doesn't make me look like a complete Tit!).

Anytime you and the guys fancy giving it another try, just give me a shout and I'll book my gym up for a safer learning environment.   I'm sure I can get the Welsh Bockers to come along too.

Graham

Hi All,

The program is now up on the ITV West website.   Our segment starts about 19:30 mins into the show..

http://www.itv.com/westcountry-east/fullprogramme/

Naz,   I did plug both the Forum and the Exo's, including holding the stilt with the Pro-Jump label facing the camera, but the buggers cut it all out.   They hate us advertising.  Sorry.  We might get plugged on the UKActiveOutdoors website tho if we're lucky.

Not sure how to get this linked to anything for the gallery I'm afraid.

Enjoy.

I think it sounded more like Alexandra Burke but we've already got one of them.

Great little video guys, well done.

yeah ITV don't like direct advertising which is why i mentioned wearing jumpers with logos on.

I want to make this forum and the welsh bockers website the main links for people wanting to have a go after reading the article i'm preparing.

Graham, you sounded really fluent on the news! Would like to do a bit of filming again with everyone in the future and create an informational clip for our website. You can plug things easily with us  :Cwink:

I will keep you posted with the article and also with any other TV work that might come up.

Keep bouncing!!

Hello all.
I have just added a short article about the Bocking last week: http://www.ukactiveoutdoors.co.uk/bocking.html
I will also embed the video from ITV in to this article when i get hold of it.

Hopefully this should get people visiting the forum as we circulate it.

Be in touch again soon.
