Facebook is murdering a lot of small forums. It's like walmart with small business. :P

Actually I dont think facebook is to blame here.

Back in late 2006 and 2007 bocking was new, EVERYONE was dead keen and desperately in search of fellow bockers and places to go bocking. These days there are more organised groups all over the country and there is generally less excitement about a new bocker etc.

flipping used to be a jedi only trick and really something to scream about. Now there are a lot more flippers and again this takes a knock on the excitement.

Forums like PJF still have their uses but this is just the natural course of things.

Eh, I'm just seeing the trend at other small forums.

But it could be that new thing.

People just move on to newer stuff.

The trick with getting activity back up is really to attract new audiences. People that'd bring that newbie excitement back. Oh and for old members not to always redirect someone to a sticky or knowledge post.

Because eventually every question that could be asks gets archived in a sticky and the forum has no use anymore. Might as well be an article.

I think Locky is right about why the forums are not so busy. Back in 06/07 it was all new and exciting, so much so there were quite a few of us that clocked up a lot of miles trekking around the country to meet up with fellow bockers. People are still travelling to meet up but not in the same way, the same sense of excitement is not there. Also a lot of the old guard such as myself don't bock anymore.....but that may change soon
