Growing a second bum
« on: May 01, 2007, 11:37:35 PM »
No bocking for me for a couple of days

I fell of the Horse on saturday 20-25 mph 16hands 3in up (thats 5ft 7in)
and I parted company with him and landed on my bum I won't post a pic it's just to horrible (and thats before the accident) it's swelled to almost double and it was big to start with

1 month bocking I havn't hurt myself 37 years riding and I hit the ground regularly
I think bocking is safer

Anyway if anyone is short of a backside I may have a spare if this carrys on swelling

At least it ballances my beer belly out

Can't wait for the bruise

Ouch!  :(
That must hurt.
Yeah i think bocking is so much more safer than people make it out to be, when i first went on them i was like 'woah im never gonna get used to these, theyre well dangerous' but now there so easy and safe lol

I tried horse riding in cape town (first time rider, through sand dunes and the beach) is was a crazy experiance and I definately have respect for horse riders now as its actually harder than it look!

And just imagining falling off one is painfull...

Wait till you get thrown off one, when it comes to jumping, now that hurts!!

I was on a 16 hand 3" ( 5ft 7" to his back so add another 2 ft to his ears )Unruly youngster thats built like conans big brother , bareback ( no saddle so no stirrups and with a snaffel ( very soft bit eg no brakes )
Trying to teach him to change legs at the canter ( fast one approx 20-25 mph )

I did have a helmet on when we parted company my one good move

yeah I agree it is for girlies there much tougher and nastier that us softie boys  ::)

The girlies from the stables once went to a Vandals rugby club do in walton they came back the next day and said rugby players can't keep up bit to quiet for the girls and not enough drink( I think they got thrown out for being to rowdy )  ;D

Oh and I know three girls who've had their pelvises split in half after a horse fellover backwards on them and they all still ride ( and I thought I was daft ) ???

you know after writing this I might take up Rugby it might be safer got any openings for a 6 ft 3" 17 stoner past his prime and with a busted wrist  ;D

some horse related injuries can by very impressive, all what you need to do, is get back up, and straight back on, and off you go again!!  ;D

I agree the wife had a fractured eye socket from the same youngster ( head aches for 6 months just my luck )  :( and I've lost count of the amount of limps I've had over the years
But you should have seen all the sympathy I got down the stable with this wrist ( none at all  :'( ) their a tough bunch
I think the kindest was "accident waiting to happen" ( that was me not the PJ's )  ;D

If someone wants to follow me round with a camcorder on a daily basis I think they might be able to make a decent living out of selling the footage to you've been framed  ;)

And don't worry Naz most people I know run out of sympathetic things to say
( but they never run out of laughter , funny that )  :(

Thanks for defending me Sx Nutta but it's my wife that needs the support I enjoy being picked on  ;D
