nah. More worries if you have big feet.
Just make sure the shoes you use have a thick sole so the bindings can do up properly.
An alternative is to pop along to your local £ shop and see if they have any old naff style thick flip flops. Cut the straps off and glue the sole to the foot plates. This has an additional benefit. People who are quite short ( or normaly statured women) sometimes find the top of the riser digs into the back of the thigh. This modification reduces/eliminates this
