Another weight/size question - sorry :o)
« on: August 15, 2011, 10:16:18 PM »
Hey all,

After a brief go on a friends stilts last week I am seriously considering taking the plunge.
I have spent some time reading the guides and other similar forum posts but still a little confused and hopefully someone can clear things up a bit.
From what I can tell rather than add on 10kg for previous builds, for the CZ range you should match up against your actual weight?
I am 76kg and 6ft in height and of regular/slim build. As I am right on the top range of the CZ70's I am considering going for the CZ80 set. The pair I tried last week were CZ90's and felt ok but as it was my first try I was concentrating on staying upright so didn't attempt any jumps.

Do the CZ80's seem like a reasonable choice?

Any thoughts appreciated  :Cnotworthy:

Thanks in advance,

Stringmoth

Settled on the CZ80 in the end. Couldn't help myself from clicking the buy button. They arrived yesterday. Just need to finish putting them together and if the weather holds up i'll give them a go this evening.

hey there

I think you definitely made the right choice on both counts - taking the plunge & buying the 80's. Let us know how you get on :)

Not really Tom. Unless you are super fit and very active then you need to buy bang on what your weight is.

If you are 70-74kg then you go for CZ70
75-76 is borderline
76+ would be CZ80

because the springs are made from different material. They used to be just fibreglass and now they are a fibreglass/carbon fibre compound which gives a better bounce. If you're buying older stilts (2nd hand or something) it's easy to tell them apart. The new type of springs are black.
