DK most stages slope towards the audience so that the people in the stalls can see the back of the stage it's hard to see the slope from the auditorium but belive me when you run from back stage to front you notice it (I was messing about on the previous show and nearly ran into the orchestra pit

The raising bits are like the segments of an orange and one round platform in the center all done with hydraulic scissor lifts amazing to see from underneath like a ride at alton towers and when they go round they can travel fairly fast

The stage area is lovely and large I get in early some mornings so I can fly my model helis on the stage (still atmosphere is the best place to fly)

I am lucky because my job alows me to vist and work on 7 top westend theatres on the stages and the main buildings when they are quiet so I get to work with most of the back stage crew and see how all the toys work (The car in Chitty was realy good if a little unreliable at first)

One day I must tie myPJ's to the back of the bike and take them in get some pics of me on the stage that will be cool (worried about the PJ's on the bike I tend to fall off things like motorbikes  ;D)

Yea the front rows in the stalls are very low at TRDL did you notice that the section of floor your seat was screwed to and about 6 rows behind you and all in front of you is on a different rake to the rest of the auditorium

Well you were on a floor that I fitted about 4 years ago (called an anti rake) I repaired it as this show came in and refitted the carpet (refixing the seats is subbed out to another company)

When we get a concert in that needs a flat stage we have to fit an antirake to the stage it plays havock with the front rows as short people can't see the show if they sit up the front  ;D

I'm not sure what rake the current stage is in this show but I'll put the long level from our wokshop on it on monday it's only a 20 yard walk and tell you on monday night I would think it's about 1 in 25 or so

Just looked it up a little out of date but I think they kept the same rake

I measure wood to 1/10 of a mm and can measure the difference of 1/2mm on a board 148mm wide by eye !  :o
If there's a slope of that stage it's that small as to not bother the PJ'er on stage !?

Lets do this in formal

ET requesting permition to copy your Capital bocking sig and print it on an A4 poster and pin it up at the stage door Theatre Royal as a few people have shown an interest in coming to watch us bounce

Maybe with "Starts 11 am speakers corner" under it

Thats fine Jason, it sounds like a good idea. The police said as long as the meeting wasn't a  protest or for commercial reasons they have no problem with it.

Press releases will be sent out prior to the event and there will be another stratergy employed on the day to create media attention...... dont ask me for specifics as that is on a need to know basis ;D

ET have you included the Metro free paper or london lite in your press releases I find that more people in london read these than any of the big tabloids

no 1/small number know the stuff. Its the joy of these social networking forums. It looks a mess at 1st sight. But if something is going to happen these things make them bigger and better. Every1 buys in and knows - or should know- then can make suggestions.

An example1 person gave a link to a website that shows parking places near tube stations. Simple  but darn useful and removes alot of stress for peeps travelling and who dont know London

I made a poster specifically for that a while ago and posted it on "the other forum"
Here it is, feel free to slap "11am, Speakers corner" or whatever on it :)
