Hi Locky

Any news on the camping front mate as if we can't get our own ground it might be worth getting booked in early to the small one so we can monopolise it  :Claugh:

Less than a month to go and I still have no real idea who is coming lol.

No joy with organised campsite I'm afraid so I would advise booking at cardiff caravan park. I dont know anything about the 2 sites billy has posted up but I think it would be great if everyone who is camping was at the same campsite. Both of those are a good 20-30 mins drive from the bay but it's a very easy drive.

Anyone looking at hotels, the Cardiff bay travelodge is within 5 mins WALKING distance of the bay. I know the EA's have previously stayed at the Etap hotel due to its luxurious and spacey rooms (SARCASM ALERT!) but thats within 5 mins driving.

I'd love everyone to come for the 2 days, looks like the good weather is on its way and cardiff city will be recovering from olympic crap thats going on so we should have the place to ourselves. I'll look at getting a crash mat down the bay too :)

Well I must say I am easy but if the one you suggest is closer that would obviously be better if they have enough spaces

So lets hear from all who are camping then we can figure out how many pitches we need and if they have that many available for the saturday night

How many want to camp

And yes it was me Billy and I have got the downhill bit (most of the time  :Claugh:) but can't go uphill yet
They are good fun and worth a try as they can be had for £20ish on e-bay (if you don't mind the odd fall  )

:Claugh: That sound familiar Billy  :Claugh:

I had one fall that left me unable to walk for 10 mins  but slowly improving

As for the camping I don't know how you feel about it but the one Locky sugests seems to be closest but the pricing is a bit confusing

It seems that you can put a tent up and park your car for £22 a night or just a tent with no car for £9
So in theory Clive the 2 girls and me would need 3 tents and one car but not sure if it works that way
Both of yours seem cheaper but a fair way off

What do you think mate

im thinking the one closer would be best depending on if they are fully booked or not. we would be one tent one van so lol not unless i park it some where else and then only pay for the tent after walking it in lol we are happy to go where ever you guys are going sure it would be alot more fun to have some extra company :D

Just had a chat with Clive and it looks like we will be camping friday and saturday (Saves any early mornings  :Claugh: )

Just to check it is friday the 17th and saturday the 18th of august  :Claugh: I would hate to book the wrong days

I'm gonna have a go at booking tomorrow Billy but I will ask if they have a few spaces before I book (don't want to get the last ones )

So it looks like 2 nights of barbys

Only joking (I better not upset Gemma or you'll get all the good pics  )

I have no idea. The NEWC's and the EA's have said they are going, plus you lot so we should have a few.
Actually by the sounds of it, it could well be the same crowd as last year. It's weird, I was saying the other day in the bay that it feels like we're the only bockers who are still bocking :/

Ok Folks

I booked into the camp site today at the one Locky suggested  here

http://www.cardiff.gov.uk/content.asp?nav=2%2C2868%2C4407%2C4410

Very easy and it only cost only about £25 for the 2 days for 2 tents and a car  (actually it seemed too cheap so I'm gonna double check tomorrow that they took for both days so assume that is for a night)

She did mention £9 per night for a tent and £14 for a car and tent so it is probably for one night

The young lady said she had a few spaces left so get booking and we will see you all there for the Barby

Excellent. Just to say for those camping with cars, if it helps you out then dont pay for the car. I'm sure they will still let you drive in to pitch up and I really don't think on-street parking is a massive problem in the area.

That said, if you're keep valuables in your car then obviously its worth paying to have the car next to you :)

The campsite itself backs on to some massive playing fields and a decent kids park is 5 mins away. There is a pub a few mins walk away which is really nice called the Mochyn Du where they serve good food and welcome kids: http://www.cardiffpubs.co.uk/Pub.php?Pub=MochynDu

Next to the pub is a big sports centre but being the flagship sports centre of the welsh sports council, its not viable for us to use for a gym session. Shame really. The campsite is about 15-20 mins walk from the city centre and on several major bus routes. It's a good place, just a bit small for a campsite.

Right  :Cwink: camping all booked :D 2 nights 17th and the 18th of august cant wait looking forward to it :) jason you prob have only paid for the one night  they require that for the deposit on the first night so second night we will have to pay when we are there its £44 for two nights which isnt bad is it

Sounds about right Billy

I now have a dilemma on my hands

Locky mentioned a pub that does good food (yes) but he also said they welcome children (did that mean us or the type that run around screaming and annoying people  :Claugh:) yep before anyone else says it whats the difference  the difference is I don't annoy me  :Claugh:

Now would this be pub grub one night and Barby the other or two barbys with lots of beer or if the pubs that good two pub nights (see what I mean by dilemma  :Claugh: )

Also do we use disposable Barbys and Gas ourselves or get a real one and set fire to ourselves  :Claugh:

Think this is gonna be fun folks

lol now its funny you should mention this as i had exactly the same though today myself ;) we have a couple of lads and lasses who wont be 18 but they could come and have a coke or two and they are pretty well behaved :) worse comes to the worst i can get kieran to baby sit whilst we go pub pmsl.

one night at the pub sounds good with grub then bbq the saturday or vice versa i have a bbq that i can bring with me its quite cool kind of a tripod set up where the grill hangs from a chain above the main dish also doubles as a great fire pit afterwards ;) i suggest we by the food at a local super market we can all chip in a bit be alot cheaper and easier dont you think :D

jason can you messege me your mobile number so i can ring you when we get there ill send ypou my number also :D gonna be a cracking weekend really looking forward to it :D
