Window ( XP anyway ) has a RECORDER software, called 'Windows Media Recorder'
just do a 'Search' for it may help. Or Quicktime !?

Just go Start >>> Programs >>> Windows Movie Maker.
This program is fine if you just want to stick some clips together, put some titles in and music over it.

Personally, I use Sony Vegas 6, it's quite complex but once you get the hang of it you can do some really neat stuff :)

AHH! now i do this sort of thing all the time! (check out
www.youtube.com/dulwichstudios) and for anyone else that's interested, i'm using magix movie maker pro. this is great software if you want to make short, simple but professonal looking films and is relativly easy to use. also last time i checked it wasn't that pricey either. if you do want to to make videos but not spend much money then windows movie maker is also fairly good i hear, but it's always been to simple for me to give it a proper try!  ;D!!!!!

yeah i got a copy of vegas eight free with my new camera and i will admit it's good and i like it. hopefully i'm gonna get myself the adobe planet pc editing workstation which is basically an editing computer and all the software in adobe creative suite 3 pro premiere. in other words the same as the bbc are using for the next ten years.
can't wait to make some bocking videos, i was doing tests with people on trampolines the other day: got a lovely shot of someone doing a back flip in Hi-Def Slow-Mo. am i being to technical? lol
