Tutorial videos
« on: October 06, 2006, 08:23:56 AM »
As someone who is about to buy a pair I think it would be a great idea if there were tutorial videos showing good techniques. It is so much easier to demonstrate with video than it is to try and describe with words.

Guys the trouble you have is youv'e not got a pair. (sorry hope you both do soon)

You wont need a tutorial. Its easy, you have read the forum about getting started ect...

Hard it isn't, fun it is.
when you do both get a pair you will find you fears are unfounded. it's not as hard as it looks trust me.

If people of 40+ years can do it, you guys should have no probs.

I disagree with you to a certain extent terry. I am quite atheletic, and young but I found getting a smooth technique for running was hard to master.
I do think it would be useful if some with a video recorder could demonstrate how to do simple jumps, and running for begginers.

Sorry Quote insert wouldn't work.
"I am quite atheletic, and young but I found getting a smooth technique for running was hard to master."
I agree with that.

Running & Bouncing on both legs is not easy to master.  I found it hard to bounce high on both legs. it took  me ages to get some good height and I still get a little wobberly even now.

I do think that some tutorial videos would be a great idea.

Not just for beginners but for every level.

I like the idea of this and I'd be up for putting this together as I've ordered something from eBay that might be useful towards it.

What I'd like to know is What would you like to see tutorials on?

I think overall technique is the best tutorial someone could do.

Flips are pretty much a matter of confidence, commitment and fitness.

I think vids showing everything right from scratch would be really good for newbies considering buying PJ's. Such as how to get up from a fall, technique of bouncing and running moving onto move funky moves such as star jumps and flips.
Even basic things like how to set up the PJ's and modifacations( which I know you have done) fixing faults.
They need to be clear with the same technique shown from different angles where appropriate and the use of slow motion for things such as back flips. Also a clear voice over of what the bocker is actually having to do whilst performing the moves eg an explanation of body and head alignment.
As an example when I went to ballet school the teacher would explain what all of your body parts should be doing at any given time to execute the movement correctly.....
Tutorial videos should be about best possible technique

I think they've either been made or people have decided they are not needed.
