random newbie questions and points

i just got my bocks about half an hour ago and have had to come off coz my mum and dad went out :-[ but i was wondering:

1.did the springs clang together because i was walking like a duck?
2.i didn't realise they were so heavy or big!!!!!!! :o
3.are there any basic tips anyone has because i can jump from foot to foot and walk ok but i need to do something that might convince my mum and dad i can do it on my own without them being in the house.

put them on anyway, there out and as long as ur not on them when they get they wouldnt know you been on them :P ;D

just put them back on! they will never know!

about the springs, you need to learn to walk with your feet facing straight ahead, this way the springs will (should) never meet in the mddle

you will get used to the weight!

its all to do with practice!

!st off best not to use them indoors. Safer outside ---lets face it if you fall indoors- its gonna be onto the edge of the coffee table  not edge of sofa.


 Remember to bounce thru the heels not the balls of the feet. That puts the body and centre of gravity in line with the hooves  and you will not find yourself lerching foreward on jumps.

The brain should quickly adjust and make you walk a lil diff so you dont knock stilts together


Where are you?  There may be others in your area. If your parents see others on them  may let you loose more quickly

Once you start doing more than walking speed you lose the weight off the springs ??
When you say in the house i hope you mean your mum and dad as it's not very safe to bock inside. If you fall over your more likley to hit something and hurt yourself ! learn out side it's safer.
If you want to do something to canvice your mum and dad ... DON'T USE THEM without them knowing !
Bocking safe it just take time.
Why not get one of them to go for walk with you down the road with you and show how you coupe. Maybe later get them to jog with you ( keep them fit too  ;D ).

ah, another point, are you tying your leg into the boot (thats what the two long tapes are for) you will find that if you do they will feel much more secure and safer, and you will be able to do more quicker!

lol they only clang together now but when your use to them they wont and yer der allways been haevy and big :P

i am in the northeast of england i am marked on pro-jump map but sadly no-one else is near me who is on the map.

and yes i did mean when my parents are at home, not me bocking literally in the house.just its soooo frustrating that my mum and dad are only letting me bock when they r in because they are always up the stables with the horses so within 3 days of having them ive been able to have maybe 30 mins on them!!!!!!

plus its raining now so the weekend looks bad for bocking so as u can imagine im pretty annoyed. >:(

oh yeah and my legs are definitely tied into my boot

o yeah i was gunna say town but i sarted writing sumfing else ;D

its stockton (probably haven't heard of it) its near boro and about an hours drive away from newcastle.

o yeah totallt off topic but did anyone else realise that on the first page of the pro-jump manual 3 lines down 3rd word in they spelt pro-jump wrong lol they spelt it pro-jumg's

well tinkering  inside the warrenty period would invalidate it.  but once you have hade them for ages  then u are free to go at them   and so its sensible to give you the best practices. Cant say ive ever read / seen the manual.

 Sifting thru this forum and asking a question or 2 AFTER the sifting would probably get better results.

What's more funny is on page two " DO NOT use Pro-jump in ..." !?

I never throw manuals away I've got manuals for thing that I HAVE thrown away !?  :o

well as they say dont try and run before you can walk :P

jumping little on the spot when you no how to stand up right is a good way thts how i got started :P

but do wear your safety gear i fell over without my elbow pads on and well i wernt o my stitls for a week!!! it was horror  :'(

and at some point my manual says something about maybe causing serious injury or DEATH!!! Not that they want to scare you or anything......

its time for another newbie question or two:

my stilts are starting to sound a bit dodgy wen i jump or even take a step instead of a thud its more of a clink or a clunk is it just the springs wearing in or are they slowly falling apart ???. i think its the spring hitting the little plastic doohicky (not the footpl8) it was only in one stilt at the beginning but now after a whole day on em its both :'(

oh and please post tips on techniques

Hey

Ok lets see....

1. Check if your white shock absorbers are still in place - If they are not pm me your address and we will get some out to you

2. Have a look at your bearings - see if any part in damaged

These are usually the obvious causes of that funny noise
