Petition for letting bockers into shops, stations, etc.
« on: November 11, 2007, 10:22:16 PM »
Hi all, I think we need to make a petition, to send to dog face brown, to make retailers and train companies, etc. to let us in to use their places, for shopping, commuting, etc. on our bocks, we are safer than, a kid blasting around on heeleys!!

Places like shopping centers etc may be ok but their has been concerns about using them in train / tube stations, it was in the papers about a guy that got banned - ill try finding the article! I'd sign the petition though and so would the rest of the members im sure :)

Ok
As a hire shop i know about all this and the problem is insurance.
The shops insurance does not cover you. I dont know how its worded but i know its insurance.
Most people would let you in, its only the jobs worths that wont.  :'(

I think your onto a looser (sadley) as any shop has the right to refuse you entry as long as it isn't for race, colour, religeous etc reasons

They can ask you to leave the premesis if they believe you are going to cause a disruption, accident or any form of disturbance hence if a smart middle age guy on bocks goes into the average shop and politely asks most of the time it's allowed

On the other hand if a group of 4 of 5 young lads dressed in hoodies on bocks bounce enthusiasm into a crowded shoping center the security guards are almost certain to throw you out it's all down to appearances and we are fairly intimidating being so tall on them (and a little unsteady when learning  ;D)

I think that a petition may do more harm than good If we are portrayed as the

"protesting we' allowed to go anywhere we like types"

it gets peoples backs up, your far better off if you get removed from somewhere to go to the nearest public area and put on an impromptu show and so draw the anti's customers away from them and to the shops near you thus making them think if that was outside my shop it might improve my trade

Also offer to hand out leaflets to advertise the local shops at a low price and then you are invited into the area beating them at their own game

If the general fealing is the petition is good I would sign but think about alternatives first they may get you in the back door rather than getting us all banned as a reactionary group (it's all about winning not about being right  ;D)

Finally if you want me to sign a petition to bann those bl**dy double buggy things that Mums drive down the isles blocking them and running over everyones feet I'm your man  ;D

I'm with Jason on this one. It could end up looking bad for the sport in general. I think at the moment its safe to go into a shopping centre until you get thrown out and if you do then try to be very calm and professional about it. Ask why its a danger and show them how its not...though I have to say it would only take a very small wet puddle on a tiled floor and BAM down  you go and if you happen to grab people/shelves/stock or anything else on the way down then it could cause quite a kerfuffle.

It's kinda like cycling on the roads. You need to be very alert to everything thats going on and not lose focus.

Meh its never bothered the ramblers and they way more scary lookin imo

“Life is not a journey to the grave with intentions of arriving safely in a pretty well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming ... WOW! What a ride!”
