I sat in my living room just now and my chair started to rumble for a second or two then them deck too !
Odd thing my brother said he felt it too !
He's 15 miles away

People from across large parts of England have reported an earth tremor.
The BBC has received calls from people in Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Manchester, Berkshire and the West Midlands about a "quake".

The tremor could be felt in central Birmingham at about 0100 GMT but it is unclear if it has caused any damage.

The US Geographical Survey's website reported a quake of the magnitude of 4.7 and said the epicentre was 30 miles (50km) south of Kingston-upon-Hull.

The West Midlands was hit by an earthquake in 2002 in the Dudley area that reached 5.0 on the Richter scale and caused damage to homes.

Jemma Harrison, 22, in Bury, Greater Manchester, said: "It was really bad. I was fast asleep and woke up and the room was shaking and there was a loud bang and alarms were going off."

Natasha Cavey, in Tipton in the West Midlands, said: "All my cupboard doors flew open and the whole house shook, it was unreal. I can't believe it."

it was felt here in leics, my whole room was shaking and my bed was wandering around, lol 4.7 i bet someone had the ride of their life on the brown pant express, lol

I was asleep but it woke me up just as it ended, I put the light on, thought "eh??" then assumed I must have had a cool dream and went back to bed. Then parents rung this morning asking if I was OK and I realised it was real - OMG!!!

The earth moved for me and I was alone in my bed!

No man required heh heh.......

I felt it! Stange...It woke me up. I first thought it I was sleeping on my fone and it rang. Then put it down to the springs vibrating but now I know. How random

Still up and about when it hit

Quite a thump with a preceeding rumble

all the lights went on in the street and people came out to discuss

i thought our boiler (which is making some odd noises) was about to explode !

I have earthquakes about every 20 mins in my flat... Thanks to the railway line I live next too! So, wouldnt have noticed it even if I was awake!

I felt it up here in Bradford. I woke up a few mins before, and when it came thought it was the wind, then went back to sleep!

My friend said he didn't know about until a book fell on his head!

I just laughed at him.

It odd I'm only 40 odd miles from it and I felt it but it was more like standing next to a train tracks when a very heavy train rushes passed $:-\$
My rubble cushion does more than that did !?

i managed to sleep through the quake but woke up to a nearly trashed computer unit, everything has fallen over! my brother was about 2 miles away from the center of the quake and so he and all his 20 year old friends ran out of the house (thare was a powercut too!) screaming! he nearly got hit by a few chimenys and tiles!
