Freaky Eaters BBC3
« on: April 01, 2008, 10:03:08 PM »
Tomorrow (2nd of April 2008) @ 9PM on BBC3 there’s some essential viewing on the tele featuring some PowerBocking!

It’s about a girl called Helen who is a bit of a “freaky eater” in that she is addicted to Pasta! Bear in mind Helen said they exaggerated it a little bit on tv though :)  Best thing is that they get her to try Powerbocking and swimming with Sharks to boost her confidence.

You will recognise some of the Bockers in the filming so make sure you all tune in

I know some of you may not have BBC3 but I found the following link where you can watch it live online when it is aired http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/livearena/

and its actually on a few times during the week too but early mornings so ideal for some of you who stay up late!

Freaky Eaters, Series 2, Addicted to Pasta

02 Apr 2008     21:00-22:00     BBC Three
03 Apr 2008     00:55-01:50     BBC Three
07 Apr 2008     02:40-03:35     BBC Three
08 Apr 2008     03:00-04:00     BBC Three

Enjoy!

Here's the part featuring the Bockers...

Updated the first post with the footage with the bockers, thought it was an excellent for the sport.

I may be wrong but think the flippers in the 7 tops were MK from 7's style and Zeb from B-Bounce, Saw a glimpse of Jelly getting some air and everyone else cheering on the finish line.

Thought Claire did a really cool job at teaching Helen and came across super, so well done! Helen picked up the skills really quickly too, how long was it before she was walking unaided as it looks like it was only a few mins or so?

Hey, I'm Helen, the now not so Freaky Eater!

I'm soooooo glad that I got to try bocking - its one of those things that I probably woud never have been able to try and now I can feel that I becoming obsessed! And I've not even got mine yet!

Claire, who taught me to bock, has very kindly organised me a pair so I'll be able to completely enter to wonderful world of bocking!

Its a shame there wasn't more footage, but I've had so many texts off people saying they wanna have a go after seeing me on them (if I can do it anyone can!), so hopefully its influenced someone somewhere to try!

Helen xxx

wicked, i had just watched the video and was wondering if you had caught the bocking bug.

Wooo, way to go Strong Sally!... I mean, Helen. ;)

You picked that up really quickly! Well done!!! :)
You'll be flipping over the rest of us in no time! :D

Train safe, :)

& Bounce high. ;D

-Neo-
Everyone's dreams sit aloft a rungless ladder. Some ladders are higher than others. Some are so tall they reach high above the clouds - but everyone can see their dream. Most people see that their ladder has no rungs and although they may talk about climbing it one day, seeing no way to get there, they eventually give up and settle for what lies beneath it.
The brave however, the wise, the imaginative and the strong of will seek out their missing rungs. They learn all they can about the ladder, they surround themselves with friends and family who would also find the rungs, and failing all else they craft the steps themselves with their own two hands from nothing. Sometimes a rung breaks and the person falls. Some of these people will fall too hard and lose the strength to climb again - Yet they feel comfort in knowing they tried. They became better for it. And they experienced things and witnessed sights upon the climb that those who sat forever beneath it will never know.
Then there are the special few who find new steps, or fix and climb again the ones that failed. Who eventually, through sheer tenacity and courage come to reach the final rung - Only they will have their dreams fulfilled. The extraordinary then build new ladders. These are the strongest people of all.
