I wouldnt use duck tape because it leaves a stickey residue when taken off.
If it ain't broken, you ain't trying hard enough!!

just use elctrical tape it works fine and also dont listen to griff he doesnt even have a pair so if you want to tape your springs then use electrical tape  its cheap aswell as effective

i bet the selling of electrical tape has gone through the roof all over the UK in the past few mounths .. and is set to increase.

you could imagine the board leaders of the Electrical tape selling society skratching there heads and wandering why soo many more people are getting into home D.I.Y. all of a sudden...

'well i havent a clue' .. 'UNLESS.. there is something else that they need to wrap.. like the back of some new types of carbon fibre springs ;D'

Reply 'DONT BE DAFT you twit.. who has anything like that  :-\'

New to this but I cut up an old motorbike innertube stretched that round and the wr***ed them in black and white gaffer tape seems to work

One of my other hobbies is archery and when I used to make longbows if they show signs of splitting I used to wrap them with strong twine to extend there life so taping the springs might extend there life as well as protecting them
