I'm assuming you already had a problem with your knees and this has made it worse...

Sorry to hear that Aidan....Also sorry to say that some cartilage/ligament injuries can take up to 6 months to properly heal. I know it's gonna be a tough one, looking at your bocks getting dusty in the corner, but you gotta rest your injured knee(s) a while before you work 'em  too hard. You have youth on your side, for that you can be thankful because you'll heal a lot quicker than an ol' crumbly like me! My injury history is as follows(Been doing daft things for a while ok?)....

X2 slipped discs in my spine (Moving safes)
Broken left Clavicle (They don't mend,Bike accident)
Broken right Fibia and Tibia just above the ankle( Bike accident,Plate and 7 screws to fix it)
Broken Scaphoid in my right hand(Bike accident)
3 broken knuckles on my left hand(Skating accident, slammed into a wall full pelt while playing Roller hockey)
Ruptured Tendon in my right hand( Because bone graft from broken Scaphoid came loose)
More bumps, cuts, concussion and road rash than I can/care to remember.

This is just advice from an old fart who's known  pain he'd not wish on anyone....Rest up mate.Let it get better before you take to the air again. Speedy recovery bud. Go easy eh?

Interesting i have some problems with my knees. Not sure how you have damaged cartlidge other than hyper extending your knee.

I invested in acouple of knee supports that have hyper extention stops to help prevent this. Not sure if it is a placebo but seems to work for me.

If it is a cartlidge problem it should be able to be sorted by key hole surgery, but I am not a doctor so could not comment further.

No Naz
It sounds like I bounce better than Nobby or I just don't notice the breaks (I did fracture bones in both legs and not notice until told I was limping and the doc sent me for x-rays  :haha:) guess it's a case of no sence no feeling

I've had lots of accidents (5 motorcycle and 10+ car lost count of the times I've come off Horses) but the first major break was my wrist

Get well soon Aidan I have had duff knees for years (hitting one with a club hammer didn't help) got to the point where I couldn't put my left foot on the ground at all for days at a time

I started cycling to work (15 miles each way) and found that it cured most of my knee problems might not work for you but it did for me

im clive i have bad knees and when i put alot of weight on either knee it hurts like hell and gives out i put this down to ice skating but had key hole work done by the hospital and 6 months later was alot better, but still not 100% but since iv been bocking there getting alot stronger so dont know if its the bocking thats doing the damage to you.
what iv notice is i work alot on cars and my knees are allways on the ground when doing brakes and then next two days i suffer..might have somethink to do with what else you might be doing...hope you get better soon all the best clive

Thinking maybe I should start the "Senile Geriatric Bockers" group..."The SGB's".... Nice ring to it don'tcha think? I've not yet been banned so that's not on the cards,I don't live in East Anglia,The JJ's, Invicta's,Sky high,Norwich,Welsh etc meets all mean a costly plane ride....I'm gonna do it one day though, attend a meet that is...Even Lozzi and Tok haven't accepted me as an "Accidental bocker"....Anyways...After a bit of observation, it would seem that I'm not the only bod in Jersey who likes bocking.Folks have been seen on these contraptions and my wife has a pair now too...She's only 28 though so she'll not qualify for the SGB's and then she'll feel left out! Can't win!!!! To be an SGB? You have to be knocking on a bit(Mid-life crisis starts at 35),clinically insane, friendly,be busted up a smidge and up for a giggle or six!!!!!    Who's in? Panic ye not if you're not "Mid-life" yet   :nana:...There's always room for junior members!!!!

-Nobby (Founder member of the SGB's...)

Well if Nobby has developed the SGB`s then Got to go for it

Not going to list the injuries suffice to say the number is related to age and an interesting life!!!

Can I join

I think I'm in the age group (hold on I'll ask Matron she might know my name as well)

Do self inflicted injuries count as everyone tells me it's my own fault when I get hurt (might have to agree on the shooting myself in the foot one )

Don't SGB do scaffolding (might come in handy to hold some of our older members up)

And you can be Banned at any time Nobby (just for being lucky enough to live in Jersey is grounds for Banning in my book)
