If you really want pait to stick to alloy you need to use a self etching alloy primer as aluminium forms an oxide layer to fast for paint to stick to it even if you abrade it just before you paint (painting a series 111 landie was fun )You can get self etch primers for alloy and plastics from a good car paint company but read the data sheets first as some are in the highly toxic end of nasty and need air fed masks to use (some don't but best to check)Guess who used to spray cars for a living Jason
