poeple tape them just to add a little bit of more protection to the springs, as you are likely to catch them when you are learning as wel all have done.
it is normally just electricaly tape, or i used some called tundra when i did mine

There isnt much to explain, there is tonnes of info about it on here. You just tape them up so you dont knock and damage the cover or to make the bocks look cool.

There is tonnes of info about this and lots of other mods too. Also a lot on other things too. Your best bet is to have a good read, and yes, it may be over several threads but it is there.

If you have any specific questions that you cant find answers to feel free to ask but asking for people to "explain" things probably wont get a good response because the info has probably been posted 5 times already

The covers over the spring on some makes are very thin and if you knock the spring you could scratch it and make it weaker. People like to customise their springs too.

I find if you remove the spring from the top pivite it makes to simpler to tape/cover them.

Here's some links I found.

Cheers dude, I still dont get it. Do you simply spiral wrap tape over the springs?
Would duct tape be suitable?

If they are new then spiral wrapping will be fine three or four, more layer works for me, you can't over do it as they'll still flex fine. Add colours if you like furry covers, bike tires even at the moment I got a set warp up like Xmas tree including tinsel flashing lights and toy reindeer !

Dark Knight - Thanks man you put my mind at rest! How would you go about attaching tyres to your springs? Would you just tape them on?

Greg11 - Ah like grey tube pipe insulation?

Lots of good tips! Cheers folks!  :police:
