Hey eveyone,

As you all may/may not know, i love horses, bocking, and greg and many other things. and some may know that my dream is to become a horse racing jockey or profecinal short person =]
I went for an interview at the British Racing School in newmarket (jack land!) around september time, and i was successful, i have just recived a letter notifying me of when my course starts and finishes -
Monday 24th August - 26th October 2009
and after this i go on an 18month placement to a trainers yard.

during the 9weeks of my course i will live on site in newmarket starting at
6am everymorning, then mucking out 2 horses and riding one for an hour
8.30am breakfast
9.00am 2nd horse to ride
....
and so on then i will have 2 hours over lunch to...sleep ^^
i get sunday off as i dont have to ride the horses - this is their day off too
it is a very intensive course and im looking forward to it but nervous also. everything is very strict and if you slap or hit your horse you face immediate dissmissal. you dont go to bed or in for dinner until you have finished doing feeding and mucking horses to a good standard. i will get Nvq 2 in racehorse care and management by the end of my course.
have pe 3nights a week for 1 hour a week and get to go on go ape !
so not all bad, for this course it will cost £3,500 which the school funds.

i now have a special request. to whoever is organising CB in 2009 - sorry i dont know who you are, could you make it before the 24th so i can attend =] that would be fab!!

oh and on sundays i can do what i like with my day, so if you r in moped distance i might come see ya! -cos thats what im getting for my birthday in july =]

It's always on the second weekend in August Hannah, so it will definately be before the 24th

You only get an NVQ2 at the end of it?!
Can you achieve an NVQ3 later on?

Good luck with it, glad to hear the school are funding you rather than you having to pay the £3.5k!

Thats AWESOME Ellis. I am a secret fan of Horse Racing. As in the betting side of it. Horses kinda scare me. Never been to a actually event at Newmarket, or any racecourse infact so I might end up popping up there during a big event some time.

Well done getting placed I know it's hard work but you'll enjoy it

I've owned horses since I was ten (god thats 38 years ago) and I just got back from the stable about 3 hrs ago and the last thing that happend tonight was I got bitten (lovely bruise on the back of my hand and not even my horse) they love me really  

People think I'm mad but I love the smell of horses   but I've got a wife for the mucking out  (she won't trust me to do it right  )

never tryed horse myself...but first time for everything!
and yeah im sh*t scared cos they have been trined to get from A to B as fast as possible :S
but if u bet and get a big win on one...then you tend to like them a bit more
