Poweriser 08 model hoofs
« on: September 03, 2010, 12:43:55 AM »
Probably should be posting this to the poweriser pages but havn't registered there yet :/

I had my '08 powerisers since 18th of august and had probably 30 hours of use out of them, the metal hoof plating has already come through both hoofs, i'm finding this a frustrating as i thought poweriser hoofs were pretty sturdy,

yes i am a heavy user and i am on them most days of the week but surely the rubber shouldn't burn through that quickly
and i didn't tire sock them as they slip quite badly
will post pictures in a reply tomorow?

manufacture fault
or am i simply over using them?

cheers all.

Its not a manufacturing flaw, they're just not as good as they used to be.  Buy new ones, put tires on them, problem solved as cheap as its going to be for now.

just to add, pp isnt to do with the brand powerisers, its just a name for a site about "powerisers" which used to be the most used name for jumping stilts.
I think the good weather isnt helping much as at summer time i used to go threw rubber way quicker.
there is no replacement for a great set of hoofies or tyre socks, ever!

Ok mate

If the bit of ally inside the rubber is about 60mm wide and 100mm long you can fit Hoofies Mk3 easily by just drilling 4 holes in each

You might get away with the ally being a bit smaller but not to much

The mk3's should give you good grip and they last a reasonable amount of time (depending on how hard you are on them)

Anyway just an option if you can't find another way

yeah, ordering new hoofs next week hopefully 7 I expect 7leagues then i'll sock them up

another point I have been stilting 5 times this week 6 hours a day some jumping some walking and running
so that's 30 hours of solid use so maybe for a weekend user that's about 2 months maybe.

we are talking about jumpin stilts here castles, there shouldnt be a "kept right" slap them on and do your thing, if bits wear out or break replace them.

No stilt hoof has shown to be up to the use of a person who bocks often, no matter how elite the brand, which is why most of us who have been doing this for years have got used to things like tyre socks/ armour and hoofies.

Yeah, although I have found, they last longer since I learnt to flip as the pressure does not seem as aggresive :)
