Hi,

I live in Cambridge and saw two guys going down Cherry Hinton Rd the other day on bocks/jumpers/stilts(not sure of the right word) and went home and looked them up on the internet straight away.  Mine should be getting here in the post tomorrow and after a little practice...  I'd definately be up for meeting with some other people.

I know Chatteris March and Ely and suspect that there would be fewer cyclists out of the town, but perhaps more danger.  Jumping cows would be fun though....

Hey, first post on these forums but I'm fairly regular on PP.  I live in North Essexx about 45mins from Cambridge.  I don't think Ely or those other places are that far away either, at least I've heard of them which means they must be pretty close :D

MCTom, where abouts in Essex do you live?, as there are 30+ bockers in Essex! I am from South Essex, I am sure I could swindle a day to join fellow bockers in cambridge, and give my dad a chance to see one of his mates!!  ;D Terrorise Willingham!!  ;D

My family are from Essex and I go back to Braintree every so often and so would meet up with people there as well as Cambridge if anyone wants to...  My stilts arrived in the post today and have been trying them out, but only indoors as the weather is a bit dodgy.  Small house and low ceiling though so only managed walking and hopping from one foot to the other...

My girlfriend came home and gave me worrying looks for about ten minutes.  I'd bet a tenner that she'll get some by next week though.

Hey!

Had my first go out of the house...  Excellent!

Went to the local park and was bricking it a little but leant against a tree, strapped them on and that was it.  Piece of p**s!  walked for a bit, jogged for a bit and did some little (really very little) jumps...

Took my girlfriend with me for moral and actual support and once I'd got my balance we strolled around the whole park.  Got stared at a bit by dog walkers and then went out past some trees and half of a football team of kids stopped playing and ran around behind me.  It was all a bit surreal...

I felt like a slightly bouncy pied piper...

Anyone wants to meet up then let me know.  I'm hooked already.

Hey Gary, you want to stick a bit into the introductions thread, and then have a look at the EA bockers threads. Theres over 50 of us in the EA area, and have meets all the time.

Welcome to the Forum and the sport. Hope you enjoy it as much as the rest of us do!!!
