ripped springs

the stuff around my springs has all ripped and i was wondering if anyone knows if i can get any protective things. If you do then please tell mw where i can get it from. Thanx

I have used an inner tube and some electrical tape.  Cut a mountain bike inner tube in to two pieces and then slice each piece down the middle.  Now wrap one piece around each spring and then hold in place with some elctrical tape.  If any nicks form just tape them over and you are all nicely protected.

I did the same kind of thing, but I took the spring and foot off the bottom, then used a bike inner tube, and some washing up liquid, and slid the inner tube over the spring, and I found that I have not nicked the bike inner tube yet, even after a fall!!

If you can't be bothered with the innertube, the other option is just tape. About 5 layers of electrical tape should do, but you can add more if you don't feel it's enough ;)

i tapped mine i took one apart completly and tapped the whole s[ring when i put it together again found it was hard to get sum bits back together i probly used to much tape on the join of the hoove bit and where the vertical support join knowin me but i have one spring tighter then other now as i didnt take the other one completly apart
