Yep, its me with the little converse on. Originally I started to put tyre sox on. But the blade of my knife broke as I was cutting tyre and whistled past my head. I thought 'sod that'. The trainers I had cos I thought I was getting a fab deal ( about £5) on ebay --turns out they were kids not adult size
. So they sat in my bedroom for ages.
You need to attach bits of inner tube to the hoof 1st ( cos they wear the shoe from the inside). Then just put the trainers on -they need to be high top style, or they slip off. Suprisingly the canvas stretched and the trainers gripped the hoof well (originally Id only put them on as a joke). Yes you do get good grip.
At £5 I think they worked out similarly priced to doing tyre sox and were much quicker to put on. They have now worn out and are gone now. Ive not been able to get trainers as cheap yet, but once I do --they will be back on.
Yes that meet was really good fun --Easter Sunday and temp only just short of 70. A fair few from Wales travelled down and some of us are going to return the complement and pop over to Cardiff on 21 July. Im hoping that will be an as good or better day
