To rake or not to rake
« on: July 16, 2007, 06:33:25 PM »
DK as promised I got the lazer level out on the stage this morning the fire curtain was in so I could only measure the main area but as the forestage is only about 2 mts it should follow the same line

It's 15mts (50ft) from back to front (useable area )about the same or more backstage but you don't see that from the auditorium it falls towards the front by 600mm (2ft ) so is about a 1 in 25 gradient

That does'nt sound much but when you run from the back to the front and see the orchestra pit (about 10ft drop from the stage and no safety rail  ;D) it's bl**dy scary on your own feet let alone taking 10 ft strides on bocks (and during that fight scene you mentioned they take bigg leaps towards the forestage )

I might take my PJ's in one day soon and try it (with the fire curtain in (I'm not to brave ))

When miss Saigon was in a few years back we nearly lost the cadilac into the orchestra pit (I've been told that was a fun day)

Now you've got my interest what job do you do that requires you to eyeball such fine tollerances I have worked as a carpenter for thirty years and that would be beyond me (I am short sighted though  ;D)
