Going out on your own
« on: October 02, 2006, 09:16:35 PM »
I am wanting to get a pair of projumpers but having read in the school pages it goes on about going out with a friend. I cant imagine any of my mates will want to come out just to hold my hand. So is it ok to go out your own or is this a no-no for a newbie. I have done stilt walking as a kid ( how different is it? )and have a good sense of balance.

starting out on your own is fine.

just make sure your near a wall/fence or something to hold onto when you start out just incase you dont find your balance straight away.

I went out on my own as soon as they touched my doormat lol, and I was fine, very wobbly at first but soon got the hang of walking next to a wall for help. Going out with someone is reasuring, they dont have to hold your handy hehe ;)

Take care when your on your own.

stay near something you can help yourself to get up on if you fall.
it's very hard to get up on your own and takes a bit of practice. And you dont want to have to crawl along the floor with these things on, you will look stupid.

Make sure you got pads on.

As you've  got some experience in stilt walking you should find it a little easyer to start with.

Terry..

when i start im going to try it on the pavement across my road because there is a school there so i will go when theres not many people (weekend)
because there is a wall and a railing so i can sit on the wall to put them on cause my drive way is steep :)
