Geography fail, but will let you get away with it. :) Where abouts? For a gym day we haven't really got any issues with distance, like Jason says, you won't get rid of us :P

Good lord i cant believe this thread has gone for 5 pages. Just and update though from me. i havent had any more goes on the stilts and hopefully the wife will never know i did allready. But ive gotten 4 different colours of tape for my springs. Red, black, Brown, and Black/yellow warning (Aka Barricade or Police) Tape. Ontop of this i got some seat belt covers that would be used for a car's seat belt and secured those to the springs aswell so they are well and portected hehehe. :Claugh:

Err Did you say Reading as in Berkshire DC

Cause if you did you have real problems as that is almost walking distance (well not quite  :Claugh:) for both the Hanworth Banned and the Surrey springers

And we are within easy drive of EA and Invicta so you could end up with a very full house if your Grandpa is willing

I must admit we have been looking for a gym in our area for a while

We are willing to pay the going price (but any discount will be welcome ) and if he is unsure about the bocks you can give him a demo

So well done DC even if it doesn't pan out

Just an update guys. Ive had my bocks now for 3 days not counting today since i just woke up and I LOVE THEM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH. Ive gotten plenty of practice and can now hop on one foot, bounce about 3 feet high whilst doing various grabs and tricks. I can run a at a decent pace aswell which isnt NEARLY as hard as alot of people made it out to be. Ive only taken 3 spills so far and all of them have been stupid falls as i wasnt even doing anything other than walking lol.

My only problem is i have a hard time maintaining my balance for more than a few bounces at a time. Im still working on my technique so i can get higher and higher but ive got walking up and downhills mastered. I can also bounce over a set of 4 stairs as well as other various drops of different sizes of walls.

Have a hard time gauging my height though as i tried to bounce UP the wall next to the set of stairs and came up short. I thought i was going to eat dirt but somehow i did a stall by landing on the wall with the underneath of my foot plates. (Think ive invented a new bocking trick allthough it's rather dangerous lol and was a complete accident) But i hopped back down and decided jumping up anything higher than a curb isnt a good idea for now lol. :Ctongue:

ANyways that is my expereince on bocks other than i forgot to mention i met one of the members of the Welsh Bockers (who gave me some pointers) the day before yesterday while bocking around and will be making my first trip to the gym next week.

nope, some people have even gone along grind rails on that part of the bock, bad idea, damages bocks, puts a huge shock up your leg, really not fun

Shock wasnt nearly as bad as anything when skateboarding. But damn i was hoping to try and grind a rail myself once i get a bit better. Ill start throwing out variations of nose grinds 5-0's, not to mention frontisde and backside lipslides and stuff like that.

Didnt damage the bocks as all though there is barely a mark on them and it was on some pretty jagged ass concrete aswell which is why i was expecting to die lol (not literally) Obviously it cant be good for them and i wont actually make a habit of doing it often but it was jsut a fun little acident that occured. lol thanks for being positive :Ctongue:

just watch your support rods for any obvious bending, normally the spring takes quite a lto of shok out of the frames, but if you land on the footplate, all the shock will go straight up the rods, they're designed to work under tension, not compression, so jut watch em

Agreed with DG, I caught the side of my footplate on the side of a skate ramp a few weeks back and wrecked a support rod.

I remember your kind offer of a spare bit at CB Cardiff Sprog when I did the same thing and bent the footplate support it's very easy to do and can do a fair bit of dammage if you get it wrong

Sounds like you got off lightly
